This Newtown Square remodel brings stylish updates with modern appeal. The clients love to cook and entertain. The galley kitchen was replaced with an open floor plan spanning three living areas. The project included full overlay maple cabinetry, abundant recessed and accent lighting, granite countertops, bamboo hardwood floors, and a butler’s pantry. The creative design created an expansive space fit for both large gatherings and intimate family dinners.

Residential Bath Under $30,000
The home’s existing bathroom did not fit the client’s needs. Shortly after moving into their new home, the homeowner’s asked us to make better use of their existing space in order to renovate and transform their out-dated master bathroom. The existing bathroom featured an open design with no door and a 20” cozy shower with no lighting. The new plan consisted of a bigger floor plan, an added door, linen closet, custom vanity, and a more spacious shower. This transformation was completed with new lighting installed both in the shower and vanity area, as well as, radiant heating in the floor. A beautiful new bathroom was the end result that the homeowner’s can enjoy for years to come!

Residential Interior Under $100,000
The goal of this project was to maximize the use of existing space without building an addition. The previous family room was small with no side windows, and a side entrance that brought you through the room with an overpowering stone fireplace. To create a more functional space a wall between the family room and den was removed. Windows were cut into the side wall of the room and built-in cabinets were installed with a flat screen TV and surround sound audio. The side entrance was re-routed through the new mudroom. The mudroom features built-in storage cubbies, coat hooks, bench seating and cabinet drawers. The new spaces are perfect for the way this family lives.

Residential Interior Over $100,000
This project involved taking three rooms and hallways, removing walls, installing steel beams to create two large connected areas; a new kitchen and a media/family room. Extensive trim work was fabricated and installed throughout all the areas, coffered ceilings and raised panel door jambs, and casings that were reproduced to match the existing wide trim in the house. This house was built in the early 1800's, so attention to historically correct woodwork was important to the homeowners. The center of the room received a new stone Rumsford style wood burning fireplace with raised hearth. The area now boasts of custom cabinetry with white marble counter tops, stylish appliances, new hardwood flooring and carpentry.

HONORABLE MENTION
Our client’s dream was to enlarge their home. This project started with a rear addition with a detached garage. After not being able to obtain the zoning variation, we had to eliminate the detached garage and extend the existing garage with a room built above. This project was quite challenging in the sense that the existing roof lines had various pitches making it difficult to merge the addition with the existing home. The final project consisted of a laundry room in the second floor hallway, a master and hall bath, a new master bedroom, new family room and new front bedroom that were all added to the rear and front additions! Our client’s are loving every minute of their newly remodeled home!

The homeowners love to entertain family and friends. The enlarged eating area is perfect for gathering guests around the table. It features a cathedral ceiling and built-in cabinetry along the back wall with stained grade bench seats. Residential Exterior Under $100,000
This home needed new siding as the old was damaged and discolored. Prefinished fiber cement siding and composite trim was installed on the front and sides of the house. Operable composite shutters were installed on the windows with iron hinges and shutter dogs. The front porch was extended, the roof of the porch, the front door and the garage door were replaced. This exterior makeover gave the home a fresh new look.

Residential Exterior Over $100,000
The owners of this beautiful modern home in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania desired more from their outdoor living space. The two existing deck structures were very basic and separate. We met and collaborated with the homeowners to design a deck and outdoor living space that would tie the many rooms at the rear of the home together, create a functional cooking and entertaining space, and take advantage of the bucolic views of the woods and large backyard. We used a bright white decking by AZEK Deck installed with a hidden faster system. In keeping with the modern style of the home, we then installed a custom railing system made of tempered glass panels around the perimeter of the deck and down the stairs. This glass railing system allows for a clear view of the pool, rear yard, the surrounding woods. Perhaps the most interesting featured of this project is a raised, custom fabricated 30” square gas fire pit filled with tempered glass fire-beads creating a truly distinctive and remarkable centerpiece. The homeowners love their new outdoor living space. The clean sleek lines of the glass panels, the multiple deck levels, and the custom fire pit create a unique and beautiful space that compliments both the modern home and takes full advantage of the lovely views. The back of the house now flows from all areas allowing easy access to the pool and creating many independent spaces to relax and entertain.

Our client’s had an opportunity to purchase two units on the 10th floor of a Philadelphia condominium building. They decided to purchase both units and have us combine both spaces to create a new home. We previously worked with these clients and knew their syle was modern consisting of clean lines with a unique flair. We achieved this desired look by going with their approach of “re-design as you go style”. This project created challenges, but in the end turned into much satisfaction! Our client’s are enjoying their new urban home overlooking the beautiful city of Philadelphia.

Our clients wanted to bring an old home back to life, and the result is the newly renovated West Chester home known as “Edgewood.” The unique home was built in 1845 (with a notable tower addition added in 1889) and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. The goals of the homeowners were threefold: to renovate an old home for future generations while infusing it with their own stylistic tastes; to seamlessly incorporate all of the modern conveniences into the old home; and to create a home for their children and grandchildren to stay and visit. It is fair to say that in the process of achieving these goals, not a single square foot of the nearly 9000 sf. house went untouched. All new electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems were installed; structural repairs were made throughout; woodwork and moldings were restored; extensive interior and exterior renovations and repairs were made; including a restored tower and a remodeled sun room, kitchen, master suite, study, basement, and more. This whole-house remodel brought old and new together, and we are proud to have been part of bringing this old home back to life, helping to preserve it for future generations.

Our clients desired a brighter, larger, and modernized dental office space for their growing practice. Also, they wanted the project to be LEED certified. We were able to assist the design team and architect with procuring environmentally conscious products. Many more windows have been added to the renovated building along with solar tubes, and a two story foyer which has a positive effect on the atmosphere of the building by giving it an open, airy and bright “feel”. The number of operatories has increased from 8 originally, to 21. There is now a second story that has space available for training, and the waiting room was enlarged for the comfort of the patients. Hopefully, this successful LEED project will stimulate more such projects in the surrounding communities.

The owners of a successful Aston dental practice were in need of more square footage, along with updating and modernization of their office building. It was their desire to renovate “green” to conserve both utilities and the effects of this building on the environment. The biggest challenge was to manage the schedule so that the practice could maintain their level of operations, as the present location was upgraded and enlarged simultaneously. Also material procurement for this first LEED dental office in the eastern US, was daunting. The curb appeal of this renovated building has drawn new clients to the practice, and the rear addition and second story are “seamless” with the original space making the original building “disappear”.

The floor of this newly constructed quarry corporate lobby were ordinary and routine until the construction company contacted THe Faux Pro and asked for something special to set this quarry company apart. The quarry company wanted their corporate logo enlarged to 10'x12' is a spiral that mimics the decent that the quarry trucks make in to the quarry pit. Custom trompe l'oeil painting by The Faux Pro makes this spiral look so real that you could trip over it as you walk in to the building!
